Most HR/CR coil prices moving upwards, says the Steel Index The latest reference prices released by The Steel Index show that almost all HR and CR coil prices are moving upwards, as the European coil markets appear to be firming after slight softness in recent weeks. The northern Europe HR coil reference price ex-works rose to €500/tonne ($712/t), while the southern Europe HR coil price strengthened to €491/t ($699/t). Both the European CR coil prices also rose €8/t over the previous week’s levels. Southern European coil deliveries are all averaging between 8 and 9 weeks, while in northern Europe the average HR coil lead-time is shorter at 7.7 weeks. CR coil deliveries are just over 8 weeks and HDG coil lead-times are largely unchanged at just under 9 weeks.
